Monastic Secondary English Boarding School was established in 1986 by Dr. Mithilesh Kumar Sah. He first started school in his village, Matihani, Nepal when he was still a medical student. The school was established in a small building at Mathaini with 3 boys and 2 girls. In late 1986 the school moved to Janakpurdham (kingdom of king janak – Hindu mythology) at a rented building in Bhanuchowk. Originally only kindergarten and primary classes were offered, but as the students progressed through the school, the higher levels were offered till 10+2 & Bachelor.
